Industrial Port Complex Kribi
Sustainable New Town Cameroun
The government of Cameroun is developing a new deep sea port for Kribi, Cameroun. Royal HaskoningDHV designed the Strategic Plan, the Spatial Master Plan, and the Development plan. Sustainability is of great importance to the government. To fully implement this in the project, Royal HaskoningDHV created 20 ‘strategic choices’ on various subjects that really matter on this scale of development.
Examples are the segmentation and clustering of port and industrial activities, introduction of a future proof infrastructure corridor, management systems for the coastal area, food- and power supply, options for urbanization planning in ecosystems (rain forest and rivers), and water management. Furthermore three regional and local scenarios were developed. After discussions with the government, industries and local people, one master plan has been detailed.
